Telugu Typing - A Comprehensive Guide PART 3: Typing Conjunct Characters
What are Conjunct Characters (Sandhi)?
In Telugu, two consonants sometimes merge together to form a single character. These are called conjunct letters (Sandhi - సంధి).
For example:
- క్ + ష = క్ష (kṣa)
- త్ + ర = త్ర (tra)
- న్ + న = న్న (nna)
- న్ + ద = న్ద (nda)
How to Type Conjunct Characters?
- Use the "halant" (్) symbol to remove the vowel sound from the first consonant.
- Then type the second consonant to form the conjunct character.
Example:
- త + ్ + ర = త్ర (tra)
